Sometimes you just want to be lost on your own in a crowd of people. This is one of those evening and, dressing yourself smart but discreetly casual, you head out late to spend the latter part of your evening having a few cocktails at the bar by yourself.
You head across town, staying away from your usual spots; tonight is a night when you want to explore and have not even the bartender recognise your face. After strolling around for a bit you settle on a quiet looking corner bar where it seems like you’ll happily be able to enjoy your own thoughts in relative quiet whilst also have a few people to watch should you need entertainment.
Pulling up a stool at the quiet, empty bar and taking a sip of the water placed in front of you you sit back to peruse the cocktail menu at your leisure, listening to snippets of conversation floating through the bar.
An espresso martini, you decide is what your brain needs. You order one and sink backwards, listening to your own thoughts along with indiscernible parts of quiet conversation. Your martini lands in front of you, sleek and luxurious looking with a single raspberry on a metal skewer sitting on the rim. You eat the raspberry first, enjoying its fresh flavors. Next you close your eyes as you take a sip of the drink. Flavors dance across your tongue and before long you find yourself ordering another.

Why This Cocktail Works
Great raspberry notes greet the drinker’s nose as they lift this cocktail to their mouth. These are swiftly followed by a light raspberry flavor, which quickly mixes with notes of coffee and tender notes of vanilla. The vodka holds this drink up off the tongue, allowing it to not be too sweet or to decedent. This is a sophisticated cocktail which leaves the drinker with clean notes of raspberry and hints of cacao dancing across the tongue.

This cocktail is a light yet flavorful palate cleanser, superbly suited as an after dinner cocktail. It is also a great cocktail to sip and enjoy late night at a bar.
